I need to find case studies that examine the efficacy of school uniforms.
Answer
Two issues need to address in your search involve
1. Choosing the appropriate subject database
2. Choosing material relative the age of the topic as school uniforms go back over 10 years.
1. For an appropriate database, go to the B. Thomas Golisano Website and in choose articles window. Next select education. From this array of topics choose ERIC database. This will give you both age appropriate resources and journal articles.
From the ERIC thesaurus link at the top of the page choose School uniforms. The window which opens upon clicking on school uniforms will also present you with related topics -- discipline policy, student behavior, etc. When you combine School uniforms with student behavior, you will retrieve records which touch upon your topic.
Two other databases to explore are PsycInfo and PsycExtra because you are looking for a change in behavior. These two databases will focus more on quantitative and qualitative research exploring the behavior.
As to choosing material which reflects the age of the topic, go to Voyager books and look for School uniforms. Often we have anthologies of research (editions) which will help you contextualize your subject.
